A large fire at an Upper Hutt firewood depot was brought under control overnight.
More than 30 firefighters battled the blaze on Alexander Road from 7pm last night, and were at the scene until 4am.
Fire and Emergency said the fire, in a large commercial shed, was well alight when crews got there.
There were no reports of injuries.
During the evening onlookers were attracted by the large blaze, and police officers were used for traffic control.
A Fire and Emergency investigator will be at the scene today.
