Police seize $90,000 worth of assets in Taranaki drug operation

Police have seized about $90,000 worth of property from a New Plymouth man, following an operation targeting the sale and supply of class A drugs in Taranaki.

The seizure relates to search warrants executed at four properties last year which found 94 grams of methampetamine - with an estimated street value of $38,000.

Police said an amount of cash, cannabis, and items that could have been used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were also found and seized.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession for supply of methamphetamine and a number of other drug-related charges.

Police have recovered cash and assets linked to the man the under the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009, including a late model vehicle.

He is next due in court on 29 April.
