Official from Solomon Islands Ministry of Foreign Affairs awaits court verdict

An official from the Solomon Islands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, William Marau is awaiting a court verdict after a violent outburst at a restaurant in Taiwan's capital, Taipei.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports that the Tawainese Embassy in Solomon Islands has confirmed reports of the attack, saying that Mr Marau had lashed out while he was drunk.

Mr Marau had allegedly attacked several people during the incident, including a police officer, and had also damaged the restaurant's properties.
