A sold-out crowd packed Wellington's Sky Stadium to watch the Phoenix chase their dream of a Football A-League grand final.
It was the first time in the club's 17-year history that they faced the prospect of getting into the final - but it was not to be, with the game ending in a 2-1 loss to Melbourne Victory.
The stands were a sea of yellow as fans cheered on the team and shared in their loss.
