A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at a rural property in Hope, near Nelson.

Tasman Police found the 56-year-old man dead at an Edens Road address yesterday morning. They are treating his death as unexplained.
Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony McCoy said a scene examination was expected to take several days.
Inquiries are underway to establish what occurred and identify those responsible.
Police say they would like to speak with anyone who might have information about the incident or those involved.
