Police have identified the human remains found this week in the Far North as those of a woman who went missing more than four years ago.
A post-mortem has confirmed the remains were those of Doubtless Bay woman Leeann Ailini Scott.
Ms Scott vanished after going for her regular 3km walk from Coopers Beach to Taipa in December 2014.
She was reported missing by her husband later that day when she failed to return.
Intensive searches found no trace of her, but Top Energy linesmen trimming trees on Monday found her bones lying in scrub in Taipa.
Detective Inspector Rhys Johnstone said it had been a long four years for Ms Scott's family, and he hoped the discovery would allow them some degree of closure.
The case will be referred to the Coroner.
