Filipino visa fraud case heads to sentence indication hearing

15:08 pm on 16 March 2016

The case of a woman facing multiple charges of visa fraud involving Filipino dairy workers is to go to a sentence indication hearing.

Loraine Jayme, 35, appeared in Hamilton District Court today but is still yet to make a plea.

She was arrested in October.

Mrs Jayme faces 284 charges including forgery, supplying false information and obtaining by deception.

Her lawyer told the court there were strong signs the prosecution was heading to a resolution and a sentence indication hearing would help that process.

Mrs Jayme remains on bail.
