Kick Out The Jams: Pea Stew

11:29 am on 17 June 2016

Interviews and live sets from the New Zealand music underground. This week, we head to the studio of Wellington producer Pat Stewart.

Pat Stewart, the prolific multi-instrumentalist and producer from Wellington, has been busy making a name for himself in the New Zealand music scene. He founded the widely loved neo-soul band Brockaflower (who have their second album on the way) and he also keeps busy with another project called The Strowlini Orchestra, which sees him combine hip-hop production with a small ensemble of string and brass players. On top of that, he also has a solo project that he works under called Pea Stew.

To get a better idea of things, we caught up with Pat at his Thorndon studio and asked him to run us through the set-up he uses to write, record and perform.

Filmed and edited by Ezra Simons and Gussie Larkin.
