A lawyer and former journalist, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio, has been confirmed as the Samoan Electoral Commissioner for three years.

Lemisio was the acting Electoral Commissioner after the lawyer, Papalii Malietau Malietoa, was removed following an investigation by the Public Service Commission.
Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio was the only applicant for the post which has twice been advertised.
His father, Tanuvasa Isitolo Lemisio, has held the same position.
