Pacific states move to ensure no loss of Exclusive Economic Zones

Pacific governments are working to ensure there is no loss of maritime jurisdiction because of climate change.

Sea-level rise poses a threat to the region's Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), as points the boundaries are measured from creep further inland with rising tides, shrinking the zones.

The loss of land in some countries could lead to large tracts of ocean territory becoming international waters.

The Pacific Community's manager of ocean affairs, Jens Kruger, spoke with Dominic Godfrey about efforts to preserve national maritime jurisdictions.
