A man has been thrown from his car after a single-vehicle crash on State Highway One near Warkworth, north of Auckland.
The man is not believed to have serious injuries from the incident on Sunday night.
The highway was down to one lane and traffic controls were in place at the south end of the Pohuehue Viaduct bridge.
Police said southbound traffic was heavy and warned motorists to expect delays.
Earlier on Sunday, one person died in a two-car crash on State Highway One, near Tirau.
State Highway One between State Highway 27 and State Highway 29 was closed for several hours this afternoon, while the Police Serious Crash Unit investigated.
The road has since reopened.
