A 37-year old man will appear in court today following an attempted robbery in Hamilton East yesterday.
Police were called to a business in Clyde Street just after midday.
They said a person entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money from the till.
Officers were on the scene five minutes later and arrested a man.
He is charged with demands with attempt to rob, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm.
