Two more Dunedin homes may be affected by a slip which opened up in recent rainfall.
Four homes in the seaside suburb of St Clair have already been issued with dangerous building notices after the slip was reported last week.
But the Dunedin City Council said further inspections showed the slip was worse than initially thought and two more properties may be affected.
A council spokesperson said further geotechnical work would be carried out tomorrow.
The spokesperson said there was no timeframe for residents to return to their homes and police were patrolling the area while they sat vacant.
