Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is to have a private audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace overnight as the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting - or CHOGM - formally gets underway.
Ms Ardern will begin her day with the event's official opening - including the traditional group photo of all the Commonwealth leaders in the palace's ballroom.
This year, all but two of the 53 Commonwealth leaders are present - an unusually high turnout.
It is expected to be the last CHOGM the Queen, who is soon to turn 92, attends in person.
As one of the new heads of government, Ms Ardern will have a 20-minute meeting with Queen Elizabeth.
Earlier today, Ms Ardern had a high-level security meeting at the National Cyber Security Centre in London with prime ministers from the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
