Police say they have arrested a woman they believe is an accomplice of a man wanted in relation to a central Auckland homicide investigation.

On 3 August, two people were shot after reports of a fight on the corner of Fort and Queen streets about 11.30pm. Both were hospitalised and one of them died later.

Police had previously said there was a warrant out for the arrest of 24-year-old Dariush Talagi, who they believed was being helped by other people to evade arrest.

On Saturday, police said they had arrested a 23-year-old woman who has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

She is due to appear in the Auckland District Court on 9 October.

A 32-year-old person was previously arrested and charged with unlawful possession of ammunition in relation to the shooting.

Police are still searching for Talagi and warned anyone hiding him of the potential consquences.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Bolton, Auckland City CIB, said: "Anyone found to be aiding or assisting Talagi to evade police in any way, may be liable to prosecution for being an accessory after the fact."

Police said Talagi was considered dangerous and should not be approached but people should call 111 instead.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Talagi can call police on 105 or go online, reference file number 230804/3399.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
