The Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas government is looking at changing its laws to bring the territory in line with the United States' Supreme Court decision on same sex marriage.
The court voted five to four last week that the American states cannot keep same-sex couples from marrying.
The Eloy Inos administration says it will consult with the Attorney General's Office to see how regulations may need to change in order to comply with the ruling.
Mr Inos says he will also consult with the mayors of Saipan,Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands.
