PNG PM James Marape arrives in NZ

Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister James Marape has arrived in New Zealand for his four-day state visit.

Mr Marape is scheduled to meet his New Zealand counterpart, Jacinda Ardern, at Government House in Auckland today.

Among the areas the two leaders are expected to discuss are defence and security cooperation, trade and investment cooperation.

They are also to touch on the result of Bougainville's recent independence referendum, which New Zealand assisted with police support.

There will be bilateral discussions between the PNG and New Zealand governments

Others in the PNG delegation include the Minister for National Planning, Sam Basil, Oro Governor Gary Juffa, West New Britain Governor Francis Maneke and the Tewaii-Siassi MP, Kobby Bomareo.
