Fire crews were called out just before 2am, and found the building well alight.

The Fire Service said 10 fire engines and three water tankers were used to bring the blaze under control.

Other crews, from as far away as Devonport, were helping dampen down hot spots.

A fire investigator is looking into what caused the blaze.
