Police have released the name of the man who drowned in the Bay of Islands on Saturday.
He was Lino Costy Hellesoe, aged 53 years, of Auckland.
Mr Hellesoe got into trouble while in the water at Russell's Long Beach. Paramedics tried unsuccessfully to save him.
