A person died and another person was critically injured when a car collided with a truck on State Highway 3 in Manawatu this evening.

The injured person was taken to Palmerston North Hospital by ambulance.
The crash happened at the intersection of Rangitikei Line and Oroua Road, south of Feilding, at 7.30pm.
Police earlier said two people were trapped inside the car and one was unconscious.
The person that died and the person taken to hospital had both been in the car.
The road was blocked after the crash and a detour was put in place.
