Central Otago orchardists grieve 'write-off' season

Some Central Otago orchards are describing this season's crop as a 'write-off' while others struggle to find enough workers.

It's been a tough season for the growers with Covid-19 border restrictions cutting the crucial supply of overseas workers.

To make matters worse, a deluge hit during the peak cherry harvest.

Our Otago-Southland reporter Tess Brunton spoke to growers.
