New Zealand canoeist Lisa Carrington today won two golds, one teaming up with Caitlin Regal, sailors Blair Tuke and Peter Burling got a silver and boxer David Nyika won a bronze.

Lisa Carrington this afternoon won gold in the K1 200m canoe sprint and then won a second gold teaming up with Caitlin Regal in the K2 500, becoming the first New Zealander to win three gold medals in the same Olympic event.

The k1 200m is the race Carrington had dominated for the past 10 years, with previous gold medals in London and Rio.

Carrington won her semi-final earlier this afternoon with an Olympic best time of 38.127.

New Zealand sailors Blair Tuke and Peter Burling got silver medal in the 49er. The pair were looking to defend their Rio2016 gold medal but finished third in the medal race.

And David Nyika claimed bronze in the men's boxing heavyweight final after losing the semifinal with Muslim Gadzhimagomedov on a split decision.
