Jade Mark Harris, 28, earlier pleaded guilty in Hutt Valley District Court to driving carelessly causing injury, not stopping after an accident and driving while forbidden.

The victim, mother-of-two Anna Chesterfield, was crossing the road in January when she was struck and flung about 15 metres down the road.

Today Judge Mika adjourned sentencing until 3 September while some details are worked out.
