Staff at French Polynesia's two daily newspapers, the Le Depeche de Tahiti and Les Nouvelles De Tahiti are on strike for better wages and higher staffing levels.
Employees from the newsroom, layout and printing process departments walked off their jobs on Monday after weekend talks between the unions and the owners of the two dailies broke down.
Le Depeche De Tahiti and Les Nouvelles de Tahiti are owned the French Hersant Press Group.
A new round of talks is expected to take place sometime this week.
