A film production company is shaking off criticism it put rare Dotterel birds in danger while filming a music video for American singer Taylor Swift.
Local community leader Sandra Coney said Cherokee Films brought too many vehicles onto Bethells Beach and broke conditions protecting the birds.
But a Cherokee Films spokesperson said it followed all the conditions of its permits.
The company had permission to set up a base camp on private land during filming on Monday, and the crew adhered to Dotterel protection guidelines at all times, the spokesperson said.
However, they apologised for the concern the filming caused and said the company would make a donation to the Dotterel breeding programme.
