Some New Caledonian bus drivers have stopped work for two hours in protest at last weekend's violence in the Noumea area.
All drivers of the Karuia company joined the stoppage after a driver was assaulted with a bottle amid a brawl in the Saint Quentin neighbourhood.
Police arrested a teenager after the fight which involved about 20 people who also attacked firefighters.
The head of the bus company said the stoppage was to show that the drivers do not want to be a free target for delinquents.
