Two elderly people have been taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation from a clothes dryer in their garage that caught fire.
The Fire Service says the man and woman, in their 70s, noticed the smell of smoke coming from their garage at Templeton, near Christchurch.
When they went to investigate they were overcome by the smoke.
