A shark and stingray marine park project is one step away from fruition in the Northern Marianas, after the senate unanimously passed the submerged land lease agreement between the government and the construction company.
Sea Touch Saipan LLC will build the project, which will help the islands to profit from their submerged lands.
The Bill now heads to Governor Eloy Inos to sign into law.
Last January, President Barack Obama signed a law that gave the CNMI control of the underwater coasts of its islands.
Baldyga Group special projects director Troy Williams says the company is extremely excited and ready to start building the project, which involves temporary pens for sharks and stingrays off the waters of Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
