Women's Day: Obstacles to overcome on road to equality

Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy says despite some leveling of the playing field, women are palpably angry about the embedded discrimination and injustice they continue to face in society.

Yesterday she hosted an event to kick off a year-long celebration of 125 years of women's suffrage. She says the world has changed a lot over the past few decades - but it still has a long way to go to reach genuine gender equality.

So, on International Women's Day, how is New Zealand doing? And what work remains to be done?
