Samoa's run at the World Softball Championships has come to an end after they were beaten 4-2 by Japan on Friday.
The Tanifa won four of their seven pool games to advance to the playoff rounds but failed to get the runs required against Japan, leaving their bases loaded in the fifth and seventh innings.
