Woman claims information on activist groups passed to police

13:10 pm on 14 December 2008

The former partner of a man accused of spying on activist groups says he was passing personal information about her and her friends to the police.

Rochelle Rees says she was fixing the computer of her former partner Rob Gilchrist when she came across e-mails sent to counter terrorism police.

A police spokesperson will neither confirm nor deny the existence of any informant in any political group and said police have never commented on whether Mr Gilchrist was passing information to them.

Ms Rees says it's been an extreme intrusion into her life and she's disgusted.
