The man accused of murdering a two-year-old girl whose body was found on mudflats in Bay of Plenty in March has been granted name suppression.
The 37-year-old was charged with murder on Thursday, almost four months after the body of Nevaeh Jahkaya Whatukura Ager's body was discovered on the tidal flats of Little Waihi at Maketu on 21 March.
At the time, police said they were called to a property at about 10.40am and later discovered the little girl's body.
The man appeared in Tauranga District Court today via audio visual link.
No plea to the murder charge was entered.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance in the High Court at Tauranga on 7 August.
