A large building went up in flames in South Dunedin last night.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said they received multiple calls to the fire in a multi-storey building on King Edward St shortly before 9pm.
Multiple crews including an aerial appliance were there for much of the night fighting the fire as it spread.
The building is part-commercial, part-residential so firefighters had concerns someone may have been inside, but it seems to have been empty.
Two fire investigators are working to establish how the fire started.
