The body of a swimmer missing off Auckland's southern coast has been found.
Hiran Joseph, 19, became separated from two others when the group got into difficulty in the water at Karioitahi Beach on 2 January.
Formal identification has not taken place, but police said the body is believed to be Joseph.
"Police have informed Hiran's family, who are being provided with support at this incredibly difficult time," they said in a statement.
His companions made it to shore.
The body was found by search and rescue and Surf Lifesaving staff at Hamilton's Gap north of Waiuku this morning.
A rāhui on recreational fishing and swimming in the area has now been lifted.
