TVNZ is applying for the government's wage subsidy as advertising revenues slump because of Covid-19.
"Like other businesses that have experienced revenue declines of at least 30 percent, TVNZ is applying for the wage subsidy for all our staff," the broadcaster said.
"This will assist us to retain employees necessary to continue delivering essential media services for as long as possible."
TVNZ has 670 employees.
If granted, the government subisidy would last for 12 weeks.
The government recently expanded the wage subsidy scheme to include larger businesses.
