Fullback Will Jordan broke open a close scoring clash to help the Crusaders to a hard-earned 34-19 Super Rugby Pacific win over the Highlanders at Dunedin.
The Highlanders raced 13-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the southern derby before the Crusaders hit back through two tries for All Blacks winger Sevu Reece to take a 17-16 lead in to halftime.
The Crusaders held a one-point lead, 20-19, with 10 minutes to play in the second round match when Jordan changed the game.
Kicking deep from his own half, Jordan then fielded a return kick on his own side of halfway passed the ball and then received the ball back from George Bridge and dragged two defenders with him over the tryline.
Prop Tamaiti Williams scored from close range to secure the bonus point win.
Earlier, Sam Gilbert scored the Highlanders try with the remainder of their points coming off the boot of Mitch Hunt.
The Crusaders remain unbeaten after two games, while the Highlanders are still seeking their first win.
