Earlier, the Alexandra paddler likened kayak cross to backyard bullrush and said a no-fear attitude was helpful.

On Monday, NZ lost to Belgium 2-1 in their "pool of death" match.
They will need to beat Argentina, who sit three spaces ahead of the Black Sticks on the world rankings.

The All Whites face a Herculean task in their third Group A match, taking on France at Marseille Stadium.
Triathlon, women's from 6pm; men's from 8.45pm
Provided the Seine's water quality passes the pollution test, Ainsley Thorpe and Nicole van der Kaay start in the women's triathlon at 6pm.
But all eyes will be on the men's race from 8.45pm, where NZ has a genuine medal prospect in Hayden Wilde.

Rowing, men's coxless pairs and women's lightweight double sculls from 8.30pm
After a successful day on the water on Day 4, New Zealand's rowing team are hoping to continue their advance through the competition.
The men's coxless pair of Phillip Wilson and Daniel Williamson are in the semi-final just after 8.30pm.
Meanwhile, Jackie Kiddle and Shannon Cox go in the women's lightweight double sculls semi-final around 9.30pm.

Jo Aleh and Molly Meech, women's 49er FX sailing, 10.15pm
Flagbearer Jo Aleh is a two-time Olympic medallist, having won gold at London 2012 and silver at Rio 2016 alongside crew mate Polly Powrie.
Aleh has since teamed up with Rio silver medallist Molly Meech, with the pair set to compete in the 49er FX.
These Games mark a return to top-level sailing for Aleh, who took five years off after Rio to focus on coaching.
