North Korea trying to rewrite history

08:26 am on 18 December 2013

A New Zealand computer programmer has caught North Korea trying to rewrite history.

Frank Feistein is a Christchurch-based programmer who tracks North Korea's online media output for an American website called NK News.

He noticed the state media service had started deleting thousands of articles from their websites following the execution of the former government official, and Kim Jong Un's unlce, Jang Song Thaek, last week.

At present, the digital record of state-approved news on the site reaches back only to October 2013.
