The motion, with 21 signatures, was given to Mr Boedoro on Thursday afternoon.

He says any decision on whether he accepts will not be made until Monday, when Parliament meets for the first ordinary session of 2015.

Mr Boedoro says the Opposition deposited the motion after this week's extra-ordinary session had closed.

He also confirmed that he has received letters from the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kalvau Moli, and new Minister of Justice and Social Welfare, Osea Nevu, asking for their signatures to be withdrawn from the motion.

27 votes are needed for a successful vote of no confidence.
