The speaker of the Temotu Provincial Assembly Johnson Levela told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Commission that he made the decision to defer the motion after seeing a copy of the message containing the threats.

However he would not say what the nature of the threats were or who they were directed at.

The no-confidence motion against the provincial premier will now be held at a date to be confirmed either next month or in February.
