Police Commissioner Peter Marshall says the Police Association should lighten up after it published a survey showing many of its members are worried about staffing numbers and centralisation.
In February, the association released a survey that showed one in three officers who responded, think staffing is the most critical problem facing the police and only 6% think restructuring has improved services and efficiency.
In an article published on the police website, Mr Marshall said the association should lighten up and the people he speaks to fully support the direction being taken.
The union said the police are doing many things right, but the survey clearly highlights staffing as an area of concern.
