Some Christchurch residents say they are frustrated and angry about the lack of communication from the Earthquake Commission.
The Earthquake Commission (EQC) began what it calls a rapid assessment of homes more than a week ago and says it is confident it will get around everyone in the Christchurch area within its eight week timeframe.
Some residents who turned up for a community briefing in Bromley Park on Monday said they had been waiting for an assessor from the Commission to visit since the 4 September earthquake.
But the EQC says its communication with residents has significantly improved since it implemented its rapid assessment programme.
The senior claims co-ordinator for the commission's Christchurch office, Reid Stiven, says the EQC has 260 people going house to house to establish whether the house is weatherproof, secure and safe.
