Lion Nathan shareholders have overwhelmingly approved a $A3.4 billion takeover of the Australasian brewer and wine producer by Japanese brewer Kirin Holdings.
The takeover garnered the support of almost 99% of investors who voted.
The takeover means Kirin will merge Lion Nathan and its National Foods dairy and juice group in Australia, making it the biggest single supplier to Australia's supermarkets.
Lion Nathan chairman Geoff Ricketts says a new chapter is about to begin for the company.
