More cuts proposed at Stockton mine

18:53 pm on 17 July 2013

State-owned company Solid Energy has foreshadowed further job cuts for the Stockton mine on the West Coast.

The company proposes to cut jobs in management and support services at the operation as part of its response to depressed global coal prices, with 15 people likely to be made redundant.

A hiring freeze has been in place since August 2012.
