Visa waivers between Tonga and China will come into force this Friday.
Radio Tonga said this followed an agreement signed by the Prime Minister Akilisi Pohiva and the Chinese Ambassador last June.
The waiver applies for a period of stay not exceeding 30 days.
This visa exemption does not apply to people who will be engaged in study, residence or employment.
According to 2011 census figures, more than 800 Chinese people live in Tonga.
