One person died in a crash in the Bay of Plenty on Friday evening.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision on Pahoia Road, Whakamarama, at about 6.50pm.
The driver of one of the vehicles, the sole occupant, was killed at the scene. Three in the other vehicle were treated for minor-to-moderate injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
Pahoia Road was closed for a short time, and reopened about midnight.
