A 21-year-old man has been charged following a dog attack that resulted in the death of a one-day-old baby in Hamilton in October.

The man is charged with owning a dog that causes serious injury or death to a person.
Police said the charge had been laid under the Dog Control Act and came after a thorough investigation.
They said because the matter was now before the courts no further comment would be made.
