A couple have appeared in the Auckland District Court on charges involving allegedly receiving drugs with an estimated street value of up to $11.6 million from Canada.
Police said Customs officers found packages of methamphetamine inside a home drinking water system and alloy wheel trims between January and March.
The three packages contained 11.6kg of the drug.
Although the packages were addressed to different names and inner-city Auckland apartments, an investigation linked them to the 23-year-old man and 25-year-old woman.
Authorities arrested the Vietnamese couple in their apartment last Friday, where police said a further 900g of meth, 800g of cannabis and $13,000 of cash were found.
The couple were remanded in custody until 2 May.
