The Papua New Guinea government has been given until July 15th to end the initial processing of the Manus Island asylum seekers.
There are more than a thousand people still in the camp set up by Australia to process people appealing for asylum more than 3 years ago.
155 are still to have their applications processed.
The Post Courier reported the Supreme Court has also directed that the people on the island be called residents rather than asylum seekers, given it ruled on April 26th that the camp on Manus was illegal.
