Cleveland's LeBron James topped voting for the NBA All-Star basketball game and Allen Iverson was selected as a surprise starter.
Iverson, whose career looked over before his move back to the Philadelphia 76ers, will line up alongside James, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard in the Eastern Conference team.
The Western Conference starters are Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan, Phoenix Suns centre Amar'e Stoudemire, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash.
The reserves for both conferences will be selected by the league's 30 head coaches and will be announced next week.
The All-Star game will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on February the 15th (NZ time).
